Located about an hour’s boat ride from Sandakan, Selingan Island is one of the few places in the world where you can stay overnight in a protected turtle sanctuary and observe this beautiful process ethically and responsibly.

Turtle nesting happens year-round, but the dry season (March–October) offers better boat conditions and beach weather.

05:00 PM – Turtle conservation presentation

Evening – Turtle nesting observation:
– Watch a green turtle lay eggs
– Visit the hatchery
– Release baby turtles into the sea (if available)
Overnight – Stay in a fan-cooled chalet on Turtle Island

Nature is unpredictable, but Turtle Island has one of the highest chances of sightings. Rangers will only alert guests when turtles are spotted.
Yes! You can book solo, but tours run with a minimum of 2 pax. Solo travelers may be grouped with others.
Yes. Children are welcome and will love the experience — but they must remain quiet during nesting to avoid disturbing turtles.
No. Flash photography is strictly prohibited to protect the turtles.
