Additional Information

  • A minimum of 2 pax is required to book the 4D3N Tabin Birding Tour.

  • Check-in time is at 2:00 PM, and check-out is at 12:00 PM.

  • Domestic flights between Kota Kinabalu and Lahad Datu are operated by MASwings (www.maswings.com.my).

  • A Malaysia Tourism Tax (TTx) of RM10.00 per room, per night applies and is payable upon check-in. This tax is applicable to non-Malaysian guests only.

  • The 4D3N Tabin Birding Tour is conducted on a sharing basis. Private tour arrangements may be available upon request.

  • Vegetarian meals can be arranged with advance notice.

  • Guests are responsible for their own travel insurance coverage throughout the 4D3N Tabin Birding Tour.

  • Mobile signal is limited within Tabin Wildlife Reserve, and Wi-Fi availability is not guaranteed.


 

Cancellation Policy

  • Free cancellation up to 72 hours before departure
  • 50% charge if cancelled within 48 hours

  • No refund for no-shows or same-day cancellations

  • Tour may be rescheduled due to weather disruptions (e.g. river flooding, trail closures)

Day 1: Lodge Check-In, Birdwatching & Night Safari

  • Pick-up from Lahad Datu Airport or hotel at 08:00 AM or 12:00 PM

  • Enjoy a 1.5-hour drive to Tabin Wildlife Reserve

  • Check-in at Tabin Wildlife Resort, featuring air-conditioned lodges and private verandas

  • Leisurely exploration of the resort surroundings and the Lipad River bird hide

  • Afternoon birding along the Core Road, a hotspot for hornbills, doves, and raptors

  • After dinner, attend a CD/slide presentation on Tabin’s biodiversity

Day 2: Birdwatching, Mud Volcano Visit, Relaxing Time, Dusk Drive & Night Safari

  • Start your morning with an early birding walk before breakfast, ideal for spotting active species

  • Trek to the Lipad Mud Volcano, a mineral lick and fig tree hotspot frequented by birds and other wildlife

  • Climb the nearby observation tower to watch for green imperial pigeons, hornbills, bulbuls, and more

  • Return to the resort for a relaxing Rainforest Herbal Foot Soak, using traditional local herbs
